Springsteen is Alive in Mallorca

I just got back from the nicest vacation I've ever taken. My wife and I rented a villa in the hills of Majorca (an island just South of Spain). The villa was near Cala D'Or and Porto Colom. We had a great time: lots of privacy, good food and drink, and a killer view from our back porch:

One night we were driving home from dinner and I had some radio station tuned in. I couldn't understand what the DJ was going on about, but he finally played the original version of Like A Rolling Stone by Dylan. Man, I hadn't heard this song since I left the States. I never hear it in London. Needless to say it put me in a good mood.

Then, like a slap in the face, the next tune comes on. I thought, "No way . . . it can't be." It was Streets of Fire by the Boss. I almost drove off the road. Here I am in the middle of some island and I manage to catch Streets of Fire on the radio. I can't even remember hearing this song on the radio while I was growing up in NJ. It sounded soooooo good.

I guess the radio station was out of Palma. It was on 102.3 FM. Check it out the next time you're in Majorca. To be frank, my wife and I both thought this station was better than anything we've been able to find in London. The good music just kept on coming over the two weeks.
